Calorifier Tank Cleaning & Disinfection
Calorifier Cleaning/Disinfection: HSE ACOP L8 recommends annual internal inspection of domestic hot water calorifiers (para 182, c.); Draining the calorifier and checking for debris in the base of the vessel. The calorifier should then be cleaned if considered necessary. We will need your team assistance in removing and installing back the manhole cover.We will physically remove all sediments, sludge, and other debris present in the said tanks. . Cooling Tower Cleaning
Cooling towers provide an ideal environment for the growth and incubation of many organisms, including the Legionella bacteria. Periods of non-use (winter lay-up) exacerbate the problem. Although a consistent biocide program can reduce the risks, it is best practice to clean a cooling tower at least twice a year. According to The United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Technical Manual, all cooling towers should be thoroughly disinfected at a minimum of twice per year. “Cooling towers should be cleaned and disinfected at least twice a year. Normally this maintenance will be performed before initial start-up at the beginning of the cooling season and after shutdown in the fall.” – the OSHA Technical Manual – Section III: Chapter 7 At Clarity, we not only treat your towers to prevent corrosion and harmful bacteria like Legionella, but we also can manually clean and disinfect them as well. Laundry Duct Cleaning & Delinting
Every commercial laundry, hotels or otherwise, has a duct or series of ducts (the complete exhaust system) that remove the hot, moisture-laden air from dryers and exhaust it outdoors on the roof or via an outside wall. This hot air is filled with lint particles that, over time, deposit inside the duct. Lint can stack up until it is inches thick. Regular Laundry Duct Cleaning is needed to remove the accumulation. Laundry Duct Cleaning is commonly done every three to six months but may be needed as often as monthly. When Laundry Duct Cleaning is ignored, the lint buildup – which can eventually occupy 50-75% of the duct – can cause a lot of problems. Lint may be dispersed into the HVAC systems, thereby being inhaled by the building occupants without their knowledge. If this happens, there will be a lot of negative consequences for the establishment. To perhaps illustrate the seriousness of this problem better, we will enumerate the many “symptoms” that your laundry duct system is reaching a critical point. The common signs that a laundry exhaust needs cleaning include: Clothes taking too long to dry. Excess lint buildup in the ducts, causing a fire hazard. Dryer units automatically turning off because the heat is not exhausting. Fire dampers in the ducts may malfunction. Higher concentrations of lint in the indoor air. Rusting of the ducts from holding wet lint for long periods. Of all these signs, fire is the most serious concern, by and large, as lint is a highly flammable and easily-ignited matter. In hotels and similar facilities, customer service becomes an issue, as slow drying time easily becomes a major problem for the department. An accumulation of excess lint deposits blowing into the hotel lobby also becomes a black ink in the hotel’s image, as it will readily indicate an unsafe place to stay. All employees also want to work in a safe environment. When workplace accidents happen it costs money, reduces efficiency and increases equipment downtime. As a laundry department manager, there are things you can do to reduce the risk of an accident occurring. Because all employees aren’t the same and neither are their past experiences, education and training are key elements to ensuring a safe working environment. Almost immediately after attaching itself to pipeline walls, the organism begins building upon itself, adding layer upon layer, forming a plaque-like coating. The start of bio-film growth can begin when the pipeline or distribution system is new due to the presence of dirt, foreign material, piping construction materials and bacteria from workers and the environment introduced during the construction phase. Additional contamination can occur if the piping is serviced or repaired. After final flushing and the pipes will be filled with fresh potable water and samples will be collected randomly from different location.Sampling and testing will be carried out for the presence of bacteria by the third party laboratory approved by DM for TBC and legionella as per the DM guidelines for the control of legionella in water systems.
